On 29 November 2023 BLIA had opportunity to donate wheelchairs, walkers and crutches to Mbhashe Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape Province. We donated 30 wheelchairs, 15 walkers and 9 crutches. Venerable Hui Liao represented BLIA to handle over these items to the Executive Mayor, Councillor Samkelo Nicholas Janda.

In his address the Mayor expressed his utmost gratitude to BLIA for making it possible to bring these items to his municipality. The municipality has a huge challenge of poverty and unemployment because it is in rural areas and many people depend on government grants, but also there are many people with disabilities and elderly who are in need of these walking devices.

One beneficiary who spoke on behalf of all beneficiaries thanked BLIA for donating such brand new wheelchairs, crutches and walkers. They are living in rural areas, and is miracles for them to be reached and finally receive these items.
