This musical tells the coming-of-age story of Zuli, a young South African girl, set against the spiritual backdrop of the morning and evening chanting at FGS- Nan Hua Temple in South Africa. Through her journey, the story weaves together the lives of many ordinary people — showing how they persevere and grow through all the ups and downs of life: joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. The production draws deeply from Master Hsing Yun's vision of "Spreading the Dharma to Africa" and the compassionate heart of Humanistic Buddhism. It blends the energy of percussion with the gentle warmth of Buddhist teachings, bringing to life the vibrant culture of South Africa while conveying the timeless values: "Give people confidence, give people joy, give people hope, give people convenience." At its heart, this musical carries a powerful message: Brokenness is never the end — it is the beginning of awakening. Culture has no borders, and compassion speaks in ways that words cannot. Every act of love and every moment of perseverance becomes the most beautiful echo in this human world. Every ordinary life can find strength through hardship and reach wholeness through acceptance. In this musical, the drumbeats become the "voice of the Dharma" — expressing the spirit of "great compassion for all beings without exception." When the rhythms of Africa meet the Zen drums of the East, we see compassion arising within the flow of karma, and wisdom shining through life's constant changes. Spreading the Dharma to Africa, like the morning bell and evening drum, awakens the Buddha-nature that lies within every living being.
